YOU MIGHT RECOGNISE YOURSELF HERE
FEELING DIFFERENT
You have often felt like you do not fully belong, even within your own family or environments.
You feel deeply, emotionally and energetically. Sometimes more than feels manageable.
At times you feel disconnected from your body, your intuition or your sense of direction.
CARRYING TOO MUCH
You tend to be the one who holds things together.
You give a lot to others and take on more than is yours to carry.
You try to set boundaries but often feel guilty afterwards.
You do not want to pass these patterns forward, and yet you notice them repeating.
There can be grief in that.
SENSING THERE IS MORE
You have had moments where you felt anchored and clear, like you had come home to yourself.
But the feeling did not last.
You know this is not the full expression of who you are.
You sense there is more freedom available to you.
You just have not yet found a way to live fully from that place.
Underneath many of these experiences there is often a quiet knowing…
Life does’T have to feel this heavy.
WHAT IS HOLISTIC COUNSELLING?
Holistic counselling recognises that healing happens across many interconnected layers of our lives.
Our emotions, thoughts, nervous system responses, relationships, family history and spiritual beliefs all influence how we experience the world.
Rather than focusing on only one aspect of healing, holistic counselling works with the whole person.
This approach is sometimes described as holistic therapy or spiritual counselling because emotional healing, nervous system regulation and spiritual meaning are deeply connected and intertwined in the therapeutic intervention.
Holistic Counselling Incorporates:
Emotional healing
The body & nervous system regulation
Relationship & attachment patterns
Inner child healing
Beliefs and mindset
Generational & systemic influences
Spiritual meaning & Soul healing
THIS WORK RESONATES MOST WITH PEOPLE WHO…

Healing rarely happens through insight alone.
Many of the patterns we carry are held deeply in our bodies, ingrained through our nervous system responses, early relationships, beliefs about ourselves and the environments we grew up in.
For this reason, rather than focusing on a single layer of healing, we explore the different dimensions that shape your experiences in a holistic and integrated way.
Below are some of the layers we may explore together throughout the process.
MY PHILOSOPHY OF HEALING
-
When someone has experienced trauma or long periods of stress the nervous system can become stuck in patterns of hyper-arousal or shutdown.
In these states insight alone is often not enough to create change.
Through bottom-up practices we work directly with the body and nervous system.
Somatic approaches may be used to help regulate the nervous system and restore a sense of internal safety.
As the nervous system begins to settle deeper emotional work often becomes more accessible.
-
Our nervous system responds not only to what is happening in the present moment but also to the beliefs and stories we hold about ourselves.
For example imagining a threat can activate the body in the same way as a real danger.
By exploring beliefs and identity we begin to change how the mind and body respond to life.
Many people discover that long-held beliefs about themselves were never truly theirs to begin with.
-
Our earliest relationships shape how we experience safety, connection and belonging.
Patterns such as people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, difficulty trusting others, or shutting down emotionally often develop in response to early relational experiences.
Through counselling we explore these patterns and begin developing healthier relational strategies.
This may include communication tools, emotional regulation skills, and strengthening boundaries.
-
Many emotional responses that arise in adulthood are connected to experiences that occurred when we were young.
Inner child work allows these younger parts of ourselves to be acknowledged and supported.
When these parts feel seen and cared for the protective behaviours (often known as self sabotage) built around them often begin to soften.
-
We are shaped not only by our own life experiences but also by the wider family systems we come from.
Sometimes patterns such as anxiety, relationship struggles, or feelings of carrying too much can be connected to dynamics that began long before us.
Through systemic exploration and constellation-informed processes these hidden dynamics can begin to surface.
When they are acknowledged with compassion and understanding something often begins to shift.
From a spiritual perspective this work may also involve reconnecting with the strength and wisdom that exists within our lineage.
what happens during a session?
Every session is shaped by what is most present for you in that moment.
When you arrive, either in person or online, we begin by taking a moment to settle into the space together.
There may be gentle music playing and we may take a few breaths to arrive before beginning.
From there we explore what is most alive for you that day.
Your needs, comfort and readiness always guide the pace of the work. If you arrive one day and aren’t sure what you’d like to work on, we will review your original goals and intentions and go from there.
Modalities may include:
Inner child processes
Parts work
Nervous system regulation practices
EFT tapping
Creative & art therapy processes
Family and systemic constellations
Guided visualisation and meditation
Psychoeducation
Collaborative problem solving
Goal setting and mentoring

WHAT MAKES IT SPIRITED HOLISTIC COUNSELLING?
WHAT MAKES IT SPIRITED HOLISTIC COUNSELLING?
For many people, there are spiritual dimensions to their experiences that deserve acknowledgement and respect.
Spirited Holistic Counselling creates space for these deeper layers to be included when they feel supportive and aligned for you.
As a trained sacred space holder, the counselling space is intentionally prepared. A small altar is present in the room, with candles and representations of the natural elements. These help create a quiet sense of sacred presence where deeper, Soul work can safely emerge.
Before sessions I take time to connect inwardly with my own spiritual supports, including my ancestors, Soul and spirit team, so that I arrive resourced, centred and embodying the essence of who I am. This allows me to show up supported by my own spiritual resources, helping me to hold authentic, grounded and energetically clean space for each session.
Spiritual elements are never imposed. They are simply available as resources when they resonate with your process.
For some people this may simply mean acknowledging the deeper meaning or guidance present within their life experiences.
For others it may include practices that strengthen connection with their inner wisdom, Soul communication, or spiritual allies that support safety, guidance and personal power.
Spiritual resources that may be woven into sessions:
-
For many people, loved ones who have passed continue to hold an important place in their inner world.
If someone had a grandparent, elder or family member who offered safety and guidance during their life, we may sometimes include the presence of that person symbolically as a supportive resource within the work.
This can help strengthen feelings of safety, connection and belonging.
-
In many traditions animals represent qualities of strength, instinct and protection.
Working with a spirit or power animal can help someone access inner resources such as courage, clarity, grounding or resilience.
These symbols often emerge naturally through visualisation or imagination and can become powerful allies during personal growth.
-
Nature offers many grounding resources for healing.
The ocean, mountains, trees, fire, water and earth all carry symbolic and energetic qualities that can support the nervous system and strengthen a sense of stability and connection.
For some clients these elements become anchors that help them access calm, clarity and personal strength.
-
At times small ritual elements may be included within sessions.
This might involve lighting a candle, acknowledging an important transition, or setting a clear intention for a period of healing.
These practices are simple and respectful, and help mark moments of inner change or personal commitment.
About Rachel ROSE
Rachel Rose is a holistic therapist and trauma-informed counsellor based on the Sunshine Coast.
Her work integrates therapeutic healing with spiritually attuned practice, supporting clients to explore the emotional, relational and deeper layers of their lives with more honesty, curiosity and compassion.
Rachel’s approach draws on a range of modalities including nervous system and somatic work, parts work, inner child healing, family constellations and spiritually oriented healing practices.
Her work is grounded in the understanding that many of the patterns we experience in life are shaped not only by personal experiences, but also by early relationships, family systems and the ways our nervous system learned to respond to the world and deeper Soul lessons.
Rachel creates a space that is both grounded and respectful of the emotional and spiritual dimensions of healing.
Clients often describe her approach as warm, intuitive and direct, offering both safety and honest reflection.
“I have seen many great psychologists over the last eight years but none have helped me heal my whole being like Rachel has. I always leave sessions feeling lighter, more joyful and more authentically myself.”

CLIENT TRANSFORMATIONS
-
From Overwhelm to Clarity & Connection
"After just three sessions, I gained a completely new perspective—one based on love and understanding rather than doubt and cynicism. Rachel helped me dismantle limiting beliefs, strengthen my relationships, and find real peace within myself."
-
Healing Inner Child & Family Dynamics
"Working with Rachel was insightful and illuminating. We explored long-established relational patterns, and the work we did on challenging my beliefs about my Dad was the most impactful. She helped me see things from a completely different perspective. Now, there’s more space and ease in that relationship."
-
Relationships & Boundaries
I realised it wasn’t about how others were treating me, but how I was treating myself. Rachel helped me see why I kept attracting the same kinds of relationships and struggling to set boundaries. Now, I no longer feel the need to fix others—I trust myself to express my needs or walk away when something isn’t right for me."
-
Releasing Grief & Mental Looping
"Seeing Rachel felt like being gifted an angel. I was in the grief of my breakup, stuck in deep-rooted beliefs that kept me in a loop. She helped me reframe these, reminding me that I didn’t need to move on just because I assumed my partner had. Her support made those painful weeks feel lighter—I felt truly seen, safe, and nurtured."

FAQs
-
Unlike traditional talk therapy, holistic counselling works with the whole person — mind, body, emotions, relationships and spiritual meaning.
Rather than focusing only on thoughts or behaviour, we explore the deeper patterns shaping your experiences. This might include nervous system responses, attachment patterns, family dynamics, beliefs about yourself, and the ways you learned to adapt in earlier environments.
We do not need to endlessly analyse the past to make change. Instead, we work with what is present in your life now and use that as a doorway into deeper transformation.
-
People are often curious about what a session looks like.
The truth is that every session is different because it is guided by what is most alive for you in that moment.
Some sessions are reflective and exploratory, helping you understand emotional patterns or beliefs that may be shaping your experiences.
Other sessions are more practical. We might workshop a real-life challenge, navigate a difficult conversation, or explore how to respond differently to a familiar trigger.
Depending on what feels supportive for you, sessions may also include tools such as parts work, nervous system regulation practices, creative therapy, visualisation, or symbolic and spiritual resources.
-
We work with what is most present for you.
While we always hold awareness of your long-term goals, sessions naturally adapt to what is unfolding in your life at the time.
For example, you may begin working on self-worth but a relationship challenge or emotional trigger arises that week. In those moments we follow the thread that is most relevant.
Over time, these moments often reveal deeper patterns underneath the surface experiences.
-
Not at all.
While spirituality can be welcomed into this space, it is never required.
Some clients resonate deeply with the spiritual aspects of the work and enjoy including ritual, symbolism or connection with nature as part of the process.
Others simply come for grounded therapeutic support, emotional processing and nervous system regulation.
This work adapts to your worldview rather than asking you to adopt a particular belief system.
-
There is no one-size-fits-all answer.
The frequency of sessions depends on the pace you want to work at, the level of support you feel you need, and your personal goals.
Some clients attend weekly during periods of deeper change. Others prefer fortnightly or monthly sessions for steady reflection and integration.
Some simply book sessions when they feel the call.
You are always in control of your process.
-
Yes.
Online sessions are available for clients across Australia and internationally.
Many people find online counselling just as effective as in-person sessions and appreciate being able to access support from the comfort of their own home.
If we use creative therapy tools during online sessions, you may simply gather basic materials such as paper, crayons, clay or a notebook beforehand.
